A group of volunteers with the Ohio Amish Anabaptist Service Program spent about four weeks this winter working on home projects for flood survivors in Kanawha County. The group did elevation, electrical and plumbing work on four homes in the Clendenin area, which sustained major flooding in June 2016. At one home, the volunteers laid a new block wall so the house could be raised and then they built new decking. At another home, they did everything from installing kitchen and bathroom flooring, light fixtures, drywall and windows to painting walls, installing kitchen cabinets and finishing the plumbing. Their hard work helped four families rebuild and recover after having their lives disrupted since the flood. WV VOAD thanks these amazing volunteers who go above and beyond to help!
