Clay County flood survivors moving into new home

A Clay County family who lost everything in the June 2016 flood is moving into their new home today! WV VOAD member agency Appalachia Service Project built this Maysel home for a family of four whose previous home in Procious had water nearly to the roof after the flood hit. They’ve been staying with relatives since then, and were more than ready today for a space of their own. ASP constructed the home over the winter, with additional funding from the West Virginia University Foundation and some furnishings provided by Catholic Charities West Virginia.  Longterm recovery projects like this would not be possible without the dedication from WV VOAD member agencies, volunteers and donors!
