An extended family in Clendenin once again has safe access to their property after it sustained major damage in the June 2016 flood.
Family members had two bridges on their property to get back and forth to several homes. Both bridges were severely damaged in the flood. With coordination by the WV VOAD Bridge Project and funding from several member agencies, they have received a new pedestrian bridge and repairs to a vehicular bridge, allowing them to safely travel to and from their homes.
Many organizations provided donations and volunteer labor, including the West Virginia Conference of The United Methodist Church, the Kanawha County Long-Term Recovery Committee, Community Lutheran Partners, the United Way, Team Orwigsburg and Mennonite Disaster Service. Thanks to all those who helped!
