On the afternoon of May 22, 2024, Cabell County, WV particularly in the area of Cox Landing on Route 2, north of the City of Huntington experienced a significant high wind event with potential tornadic activity, resulting in damage. The full extent and scale of the damage are still being assessed as the situation evolves. The primary impacts were to a few homes and power/utility infrastructure, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. Authorities and emergency services are actively working to address the damage, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
