Our Mission
West Virginia Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster is a humanitarian association of independent organizations that may be active in all phases of disaster. Its mission is to identify unmet needs and facilitate efficient streamlined service delivery to those imperiled or impacted by disaster while eliminating duplication of effort through cooperation, coordination, communication, and collaboration in the four phases of disaster: Preparation, Response, Recovery, and Mitigation.
Who We Are
The West Virginia VOAD is the state chapter of the National VOAD. The WV VOAD consists of organizations active in disaster response throughout the state of West Virginia. The VOAD's role is to bring organizations together and enable them to understand each other and work together during times of disaster preparedness, response, relief, and recovery.

WV VOAD adheres to the principals established by National VOAD. The principals are referred to as the four C's:
-
Cooperation
-
Communication
-
Coordination
-
Collaboration

The principals serve as the foundation for the WV VOAD as it collaborates with local, regional, and national partners to coordinate disaster relief, response, and recovery efforts in times of disaster.
